First Childrens Concert Program Book Cover

First Children's Concert

The Cleveland Orchestra’s Children’s Concerts began as a formal series in 1921, the Orchestra’s fourth season. Working closely with the local school districts, the Orchestra invited school children to Masonic Auditorium for programs that closely aligned with the music appreciation curriculum taught in the schools. Each year, thousands of children throughout Northeast Ohio had the opportunity to attend a live symphony concert by The Cleveland Orchestra.

This series continues today, and has reached more than 4 million school-aged students since its inception.
