Center for Future Audiences

The Cleveland Orchestra's Center for Future Audiences was established to fund programs to develop new generations of audiences for Cleveland Orchestra concerts in Northeast Ohio.

About

The Center was created in 2010 with a $20 million lead endowment gift from the Maltz Family Foundation. Center-funded programs focus on addressing economic and geographic barriers to attending Cleveland Orchestra concerts at Severance and Blossom Music Center. Programs include research, introductory offers, targeted discounts, student ticket programs, and integrated use of new technologies. The goal is to create one of the youngest audiences of any symphony orchestra in the country. For additional information about these plans and programs, call us at 216-231-7464.

Programs

Under 18s Free

Among the Orchestra's flagship audience development programs is "Under 18s Free," initiated with the 2011 Blossom Festival and designed to make concerts accessible and inexpensive for families to attend. With project funding, this program was extended in autumn 2012 to include several series at Severance Music Center. Each year, over 20,000 young people are attending concerts with their families through "Under 18s Free."

Student Advantage Program

This ongoing program makes tickets available to full-time high school, college, and graduate/post-graduate students at discounted prices during the Severance Music Center season. Membership is free, and also features opportunities to attend open rehearsals and special artist masterclasses free.

Student Frequent Fan Card

Launched in autumn 2012, the Fan Card offers students unlimited single tickets (one per Fan Card holder) to weekly Classical Subscription Concerts all season long. The price for the card is usually $50, good for the entire season.

Student Ambassadors

This program creates a peer-to-peer network of young people to help the Orchestra reach more students throughout Northeast Ohio. Ambassadors reach out about the Student Advantage Program with students on their campus or school, to provide information about member benefits and upcoming concerts.
